4. Board of Education member Ward 3 sworn in by Probate Judge Chad Joiner
5. Board of Education members (Wards 1, 2, 4, and 5) sworn in by George Sims
6. Council Members (Wards 2 to 5 in that order) sworn in to office by George Sims. Each will then take their seat.
7. Council Member Ward 1 sworn in by Cuviere Terry Jr. and take his seat.
8. Mayor sworn into office by Darrius Pearson and take his seat.
9. City Clerk declares a vacancy in the office of Council President and ask for a motion to appoint a Council Member as Council President in accordance with Ordinance No. 1603
10. Motion to rotate office of President and President Pro Tem, each term to run for 292 consecutive days
11. Council President assumes the gavel.
12. Council President will ask for motion for appointment of President Pro Tempore in accordance with Ordinance No. 1603.
13. Motion setting dates and time for regular Council meetings (second and fourth Mondays of each month at 5:30 pm beginning January 2024) (Beginning this term, Council will meet the first and third Mondays of each month at 5:00pm)
14. Motion to adopt the 12th Edition of Robert’s Rules of Order.
15. Motion to appoint the law firm of Thornton, Carpenter, O’Brien, Lawrence, Sims & Kulovitz located at 212 West North Street, Talladega, to act as the City’s legal representation.
16. Motion authorizing operation under the 2023-2024 budget as approved by Ordinance No. 1937 adopted (The City is working with the FY23 budget numbers for FY24 until such time Ordinance No. 1937 can be repealed with newly adopted budget)
17. Motion authorizing continued existing duties of personnel including City Manager and City Clerk, city functions and programs and policies until such a time as revised in accordance with all applicable laws
18. Motion authorizing Mayor to administer oaths of office
21. Motion to adjourn the Organizational Meeting and convene the Regular Council Meeting
